One Of My Favorite Bands

Welcome to the music email for this week! I'm thrilled to introduce you to Prep, one of my favorite bands, this week. Prep, a four-piece band from London, has been making waves in the indie pop industry with their cheerful, infectious sound. Their unique ability to fluidly combine pop, R&B, and funk components to produce a sound that is both new and recognizable is what makes them stand out. They explore topics of self-discovery and personal development in their lyrics, which are reflective and relatable. Their funky tunes and contagious energy always puts me in a groovy mood. This is what I enjoy most about them. If you're looking for a new band to add to your playlist, I highly recommend giving Prep a listen - you won't be disappointed! Let’s explore some of their tracks and you’ll see what I mean.

Let’s me begin with the song from Prep that first grabbed my attention and was my introduction to this band. Let me put you on to this song called "Cheapest Flight". If you collected positive energy and stuffed it into a four minutes, 29 second track, the result would be this song. I’m immediately transported into a different head-space as soon as the opening chords begin, which is much appreciated when you’re going through something or are heavy in thoughts. The lyrics, too? So recognizable. This song nicely describes the sense of needing to get away from it all, which is a place we've all been. However, the catchy chorus and funky bassline are what really make this song a hit; they'll stick in your head for days. If a musical escape is needed from reality, look no further than "Cheapest Flight" by Prep. It's like a vacation for your ears!

Next is Prep's song "As It Was". The jazzy instrumentation and silky, soulful vocals blend well together. It's the kind of tune you play to dazzle someone with your great musical sense. The lyrics are incredibly thoughtful. All in all, "As It Was" is a musical masterpiece that, even if you're just lounging around the house solo or with a group of friends for a small gathering, this track will make you feel like the coolest person in the room.

Prep's "Back to You". The soothing vocals enter after the opening, which immediately put me in a familiar mood because it sounds like a song I haven't heard in a while. But the chorus of this song is what truly gets me; it's so catchy and energetic that I can't help but sing along. It has the ideal amount of both hope and melancholy. Not to be overlooked is the pulsing bassline, which acts as the song's heartbeat and keeps everything going. Overall, Prep's "Back to You" is a musical masterpiece that is certain to put a smile on your face and a dip in your hip.
